Memphis trainer at Energy Fitness: Caretakers need to care for themselves too
Memphis Trainer at Energy Fitness, Tonya Tittle sees trend for children ages 40 to 60 putting their own risk at health having to become caretakers of their own parent(s).
As of lately many of our current and new clients have found themselves in the role of caretaker for their parent or parents. This takes a toll on the health of the child by an average of a 20 pound weight gain, stress, anxiety, sleep deprivation, poor eating habits, and many more body transforming changes.
Ask yourself how you can continue to care for someone else if you are putting your own health at risk. How long can your own body endure the abuse of neglect? If this sounds like you or you think your parents or loved ones may be a target in the future for your attention and care them, then you had better get on the fitness wagon now.
Stop with the all or nothing mentality. Adopt the 20 minutes or all mentality.
Your Action Plan:
- Keep duplicate sets of exercise clothes/shoes in your car, office, boyfriends or girlfriends house.
- Keep healthy snacks (fruit, fruit leathers, nuts, rice cakes, protein bars) in the same places listed above. Being prepared if half the battle.
- Print a calendar and mark an x for every day that you do at least 10 minutes of exercise. At the end of the month you will be able to visually see how much time you are devoting to YOU!
- Hire a trainer (like me) if you need accountability and results.
