Who Is Inspiring YOU To Change? Do You Even Want To?
I often find myself to be the only woman in the free weight area for way more than 10 minutes early mornings on my weight training days at my local YMCA. I’m usually just doing my programs I write and put in action for 6 weeks at a time along with adding what additional functional movements or stretches I need to do based on how I feel.
I follow a few people on instagram that are inspiring to me and so I try a few new things or aspire to do things like a handstand without using a wall for support (getting close but it’s a bit scary as I don’t need to get hurt and not be able to work). The users I find the most inspiring are the ones that use their body weight, rings or a fitness pole. The thing about aging healthfully is that you have to push past your comfort level and make your body learn new movements or else you get in a rut and stay the same or get bound up fascia.
In the end you must be you and if you are happy just where you are then great! You be you and I’ll continue to striving to be a better me all the time!
On another note more on the nutrition side, my husband started using a new app that counts down how many hours between meals that he goes. His goal is 3 meals and no snacks. It gives lots of motivational tips and I love when I looked at it there was a section that showed the 4 pillars of health to be Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep, Stress management. If you sabotage one of these likely falls a few of the others like a domino effect. You may need to find a nutrition coach, a mentor, a healthy friend or neighbor, a personal trainer, athlete that you can get tips and encouragement from on the regular.
Here’s a few peeps that regularly inspire me to go bolder or move in new ways:
https://www.instagram.com/flexsthenics/ (this channel features a variety of individuals that post so these feats of fitness are all across the board cool and sometimes crazy)
https://www.instagram.com/vik_hawksley/ – he’s really the one that I find very diverse and he’s a bad ass
@deependfitness (some super cool stuff in the water and some with dumbbells)
@kocherin_pole_school (I think this guy is a cirque du soleil athlete)
@darienj4 (he does some crazy and impressive things in the gym, especially the one where he takes an ab roller and jumps with it on and off of the back of a moving treadmill in a full plank)
@official_nathan-cintron (this one is for food porn, he is too funny, kind of an inspired not to eat 99% of what he shows) I really like the one about the ice-cream. If you like ice-cream then maybe you shouldn’t watch. You must have sound on! https://www.instagram.com/p/CgVOH_sJQJm/
Why put off your fitness…..let’s discuss your fitness & nutrition needs. All it takes is a call or text to get the conversation started. Maybe you can be one of the charter clients for South Carolina location, LET’S GET MOVING, even if it’s online for now. Plans to restart construction mid-October for relocated location from Memphis to Greenville (Travelers Rest area), South Carolina.
