Hydrogen Water Benefits…I Have a Portable Maker
Since water is my beverage of choice and what I drink about 70-90 ounces each and every day I wanted to try out the hydrogen water to see if I could benefit. I used reward points to purchase a 10 oz glass unit and so far so good. I’m not feeling much difference yet, but the taste of the water is so fresh and I love seeing the bubbles and lights while it takes about 3 minutes to generate the hydrogen water. I really love the 10 oz glass bottle (I do wish it made more at a time) as you can feel empowered by filling up and downing your quota for the day. Remember, you need half your body weight in ounces plus 4 ounces for every 15 minutes of exercise.
Our family had a water taste testing. We used shot glasses to see if they could taste the difference. We stacked up tap water, filtered water from fridge and the hydrogen water from my new unit. It was very apparent that the hydrogen water tasted clean and fresh.
We all know we need to drink water and why not make it taste great and without the taste of chlorine and other things each city adds to water or worse septic tank water systems without a filter.
Is hydrogen water good for you?
Some studies suggest hydrogen water can lower inflammation, improve blood sugar, and protect skin cells from UV damage.
Here’s what WebMD has to say:
Hydrogen water is regular water with hydrogen gas added to the water. According to some resources, adding hydrogen gas to the water increases its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It’s been touted for its ability to increase energy, slow down the aging process, and improve muscle recovery after a workout.
Manufacturers sometimes sell hydrogen water bottled with the gas already added to it. You can also buy hydrogen water tablets. Drop one into a glass of water to add the gas.
Current research into the health benefits of hydrogen water is limited and further research to confirm these findings is required.
One study of 49 people with liver cancer showed that drinking hydrogen-rich water for six weeks during radiation therapy could improve quality of life during treatment.
Side effects of radiation therapy include:
- Fatigue
- Hair loss
- Skin problems
- Nausea
- Headaches
- Soreness in the area treated
The study showed that quality of life scores were higher in the group that drank hydrogen water, versus the placebo group consuming regular water. But further study is needed.
